The Artists' Beach Front: "A hidden Gem"

“Y'all. This place is a hidden gem! Tucked away in Wonga Beach, this house is a little slice of Queensland paradise. If you're looking to get away from it all, relax, and enjoy the natural wonders of Queensland, the Artist's Beach Front is perfect. The house is beautiful and eclectic, with all the modern amenities, including wifi, cable, and updated kitchen and bathrooms. THE HOUSE: The pictures and description are accurate. There is a beautiful beach just across the road from the front. There are only a few houses on the street, so it is very quiet and the beach is generally wide open. There is a small pool in the back and with lovely french doors on all sides, you'll feel like you're enjoying nature just sitting at the dining room table. GETTING THERE: You do need a car to get here. It's a little over an hour north of Cairns airport and ~30 minutes from Port Douglas. But the roads are well maintained, easy to navigate, and fairly open, so it was an easy (and beautiful) drive, even for this American who's used to driving on the right. LOCATION: The house is ~15-20 minutes from Mossman, where there's a large Woolworths, so you can pick up any supplies you might need. It's easy to drive into Port Douglas if you want a day of shopping or to take a tour of the Barrier Reef. Many of the Daintree sights are within easy driving distance of the house, and it's actually better to just drive there yourself rather than take a tour, which typically leaves from Port Douglas and then heads back up to the areas around the house. If you want to be in the thick of the bars/restaurants, this isn't the place for you. But if you want to escape the rush and relax at a peaceful place, while still having access to many of the main attractions, this place is perfect. HOST: Tina is a wonderful host! Although she and her family were traveling internationally at the time, everything was sort and in order for my arrival. She was quick to respond to any questions I had by email. Additionally, she provides an information packet that covers most of the things that you would ask. I referred to it multiple times and found it very handy. BOTTOM LINE: This is the perfect place to get away from it all. Open the doors, listen to the kookaburras, and relax. ”
